Perrigo is proud to partner with Western Michigan University (WMU) on a Supply Chain Co-Op. Our Ascend program enables WMU students to gain real life experience throughout an entire year. This not only benefits the students but also provides a pipeline of talented individuals for full time employment.
Ryan is one of our most recent Co-Op Students who is studying Supply Management and Business Analytics. Below Ryan shares insights into his time with Perrigo so far!
Can you tell us about your internship? Currently I am interning in the Customer Supply Chain department on Perrigo's Target Account. I have been able to learn what it takes to communicate with the customer as well as develop a framework for improved reporting capabilities. My time at Perrigo has served as a great opportunity to practice my studies in a professional work environment, while dramatically expanding my knowledge and application of concepts I studies at WMU.
What are the advantages of undertaking this Co-Op? The Ascend Program has been an invaluable opportunity to build meaningful professional relationships at Perrigo with seasoned experts across various functions. My time on the Demand Planning and Customer Fulfillment team provided a strong foundation in understanding how supply chain decisions influence customer satisfaction and operational performance. I gained hands-on experience in forecasting, order management, and inventory planning, while collaborating cross-functionally with teams in sales, operations, and logistics. Being part of a fast-paced, results-driven environment allowed me to contribute to impactful projects, strengthen my analytical and communication skills, and confirm my passion for pursuing a career in supply chain management.
What's next for you? Following this summer, I will be returning to WMU for my last semester this Fall and graduating in December 2025. I look forward to moving into a full-time role post-graduation.
