Perrigo is proud to partner with Western Michigan University (WMU) on a Supply Chain Co-Op. Our Ascend program enables WMU students to gain real life experience throughout an entire year. This not only benefits the students but also provides a pipeline of talented individuals for full time employment.
Allie is one of our most recent Co-Op Students who is majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Business Analytics. Below Allie shares insights into her time with Perrigo so far!
Can you tell us about your internship? I am currently interning on the Inventory Management Team at Perrigo, where I focus on managing obsolescence items. This role has allowed me to apply classroom concepts in real-world scenarios while gaining deeper insight into various supply chain functions. I joined Perrigo’s Ascend Program in January 2025 and have since completed two additional rotations. My first role was in the Tablet Scheduling department at Plant 5, where I developed professionally by learning about company culture, enhancing my Microsoft Office skills, configuring production schedules, and managing Kanban boards. Over the summer, I transitioned to the Baseline Forecasting Team. There, I worked with SAP IBP to cleanse data, analyze demand patterns, apply best-fit forecasting models, and use time series analysis along with ABC/XYZ segmentation. I contributed to two key projects: zeroing out launch quantities and updating ABC/XYZ segmentation. These efforts helped improve forecast accuracy and prioritize team focus on high-impact products.
What are the advantages of undertaking this Co-Op? The Ascend Program has been an incredible opportunity to explore different areas within the supply chain and refine my career interests
What's next for you? I am excited to continue in the program for another year starting in January and look forward to growing further with Perrigo while exploring new departments and challenges.
